The second practice of The Leadership Challenge model is Inspire a Shared Vision. This is the practice that leaders traditionally have the most trouble with. It’s sometimes difficult to have a vision and it’s often difficult to convey that vision to others. But being a visionary, and being able to share that vision with others, is a trait that is learnable. Inspiring others with the vision we see of the future is a practice that we can all improve upon. And more importantly, this is something that is imperative if we want people to follow us and see us as strong leaders.
