Leadership Tip: Exemplary Leaders Get Out of Their Comfort Zone

CHALLENGE THE PROCESS

Experiment and take risks, even when there is a chance of failure.

Today’s Tip:

Look at every policy and procedure in your organization and ask yourself and your team: “Why are we doing it this way?” If the answer is, “Because we’ve always done it this way,” you may have an opportunity for improvement. Start by defining the desired outcome of the policy or procedure, then experiment with different ways of doing it that may be more effective and/or efficient.

Food for Thought:

Exemplary leaders get out of their comfort zone—and they encourage their team to do the same. They create a climate of innovation and experimentation, encouraging people to try something new, fail, and then learn from it.
