Leadership Tip: Commit to Decisions That Were Agreed Upon

COMMIT TO DECISIONS:

Leave meetings confident that everyone is committed to the decisions that were agreed upon.

Today’s Tip:

At the end of every meeting, lead the group through a discussion and clarification of the key decisions made. Agree on what needs to be communicated to others outside the team. This simple exercise demonstrates a public commitment to agreements and aligns employees throughout the organization around common objectives.

Food for Thought:

During discussions, do your team members solicit one another’s opinions and challenge each other about how they arrived at their conclusions and opinions? This behavior helps ensure that every voice has been heard, understood, and considered within the context of the ultimate decision.
