Leadership Tip: Follow Through on Promises and Commitments

INFLUENCE ACCOUNTABILITY

Ensure that your team members feel pressure from their peers and an expectation to perform.

Today’s Tip:

Review progress against goals and engage your team in deciding how to stay (or get back) on track. Provide an opportunity for any individual member who has fallen behind to step up, and for other team members to step in to offer help.

Food for Thought:

When a team quickly recognizes it has deviated from the plan, they are more likely to highlight and address performance issues. It is important for team members to consistently follow through on promises and commitments, and for each member of the team to be held to the same high standards.
