Support the decisions that people make on their own.
The next time a colleague makes a decision with which you disagree, challenge yourself to NOT automatically correct your colleague’s work or ideas. Instead, if you are concerned about a potential outcome, ask for clarity and context. In this way, you are creating an environment in which fresh ideas are welcome versus dictating how things get done.

Exemplary leaders demonstrate confidence in the abilities of others and actively create a culture where people feel in control. They give others the discretion to make their own decisions, and they provide guidance where needed to improve the decision-making capabilities of others.
