Make sure that people are creatively rewarded for their contributions to the success of your projects.
Write down something that each member of your team personally enjoys. Use this list as a starting point for determining how you might reward each of them for their next contribution to the team. If you are doing a public recognition, use this information to personalize the message.
Food for Thought:
The best leaders take time to think about how to make recognition special. They ask themselves, “What can I do to make sure this person never forgets how much she or he means to me, our team and/or our organizations? How can I make sure they know how important their contributions are?”
