Enable Others to Act
Actively listen to diverse points of view
Today’s Tip: Seek new and innovative ideas by gathering together a group of people from different disciplines to brainstorm ideas. As you listen to participants and their wide-ranging ideas, ask them what they would view as the other side of their argument.
Food for Thought: Being open and welcoming to all ideas and giving everyone a voice in decisions affecting the team is essential to ensure the success of any endeavor. Leaders seek out the opinions of others and listen respectfully—and without judgment—to what others are saying. Leaders who seek to understand both sides of every story will be far more effective in recognizing what they need to do to enable others.
