CHALLENGE THE PROCESS: Ask “What can we learn?” when things don’t go as expected
Today’s Tip: Conduct a review of a recent project. Ask project team members “What worked well? What didn’t work so well?” Specifically ask “What could I have done to help the team be more efficient and/or effective?”
Food for Thought: Leaders make it safe for the team to take risks. They know that false starts and mistakes are part of the process of innovation and they make sure that learning becomes an essential part of the process. No matter if a project is an overwhelming success or a dismal failure, leaders ask, “What can we learn?”
